Old School Repair with a Modern Twist - Quality Bikes, Parts & Accessories
SHOP IS CLOSED!
A service focused shop offering repair on all makes and models of bicycles. I am a mechanic, not a sales person. My goal is to maintain your existing bike or help you get the right bike for your particular riding style.
I stock new bicycles from Jamis, Bianchi, Surly, Niner, REEB, Masi, Haro, & All-City. Used bicycles are totally random and I process them and put them up for sale when time permits. New parts and accessories from the best names in the industry with competitive pricing, matching mail order when possible.
I get it, the internet is hard to beat, you can get some great deals and even buy a bike in your underwear. But when the internet fails you, I got your back. From Internet bike assembly to parts installs I have you covered. Sure, I'd love to sell you something I have in stock, but will gladly work on the bike you bought elsewhere. No internet shopper guilt trip here.
A BIT ABOUT US
Klunk Bicycles was established in 2005 with a goal of providing the community quality repair focused shop and getting more people out there on bikes.

I started out riding road in the mid 1980s, buying a Mountain Bike in 1989 changed my life and I've preferred dirt under my tires ever since. I worked as a mechanic at a local shop in college. When they closed I began a fairly lengthy hiatus from the bike industry as a bagel baker, working on small farms, horse logger, outdoor trip leader, environmental educator, wood worker & USFS Trail Builder. Finding myself back in Columbia in the early 2000's I decided that my most applicable skill set for life in CoMo was bicycle repair, and here I am today, cranking out repairs on a daily basis.

The shop has evolved a lot over the years. In the early days it was all used bikes and repair work. Now it is primarily repair work and new bikes, I still offer used bikes, just not in the quantities some people remember from the past.

There is a saying I read somewhere...
Choose three Hobbies, one to earn a living, one to keep you fit and one to be creative. I suppose I've taken a different approach in choosing one hobby that covers all 3. I just need to find more time to ride!
